About Us

Who we are:

We are the Mid-Potomac Chapter of the Archeological Society of Maryland. Our primary focus is on archaeological sites in Montgomery County, Maryland. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds including professional Archaeologists, Teachers, Students and others who just have a passion for archaeology. Our membership is open to anyone who is interested and all are welcome.

What we do:

Our chapter partakes in a wide variety of activities all year long. Typical activities include excavating local sites, lab work at Needwood Mansion and scheduled events such as "Forensics Day" and "Primative Technology Day". Most of our sites are historic, but we do occasionally work on prehistoric ones as well. The majority of our events are open to the public.

Where to find us:

Our chapter meets on the third (3rd) Thursday of every month at Needwood Mansion in Derwood, MD. For directions or information, please contact Vivian Eicke, 1128 W. Nolcrest, Silver Spring, Maryland 20903 (301-681-6497)
